FIRST day in Bobbio

Our Via del Sale is a safe trek of 60 km in 4 days. Our journey will start in the historic town of Bobbio (near Piacenza, in Emilia Romagna), just 1.5 hours by public transport from Milano. Known for its medieval charm, Bobbio boasts ancient treasures like the Ponte Gobbo (Devil’s Bridge), and the medieval Abbey of San Colombano.

We’ll arrive in Bobbio on 10 May to gather our strength before the trek. On 11 & 12 May we will visit Bobbio and its beautiful medieval surroundings. On May 13, we will start our trek to our first point: Capanne di Cosola (1,490m). From there we be continuing our trek along the ridge of the Apennines until Sunday May 17, when we will reach the sea.

Our accomodation In Bobbio will be the cozy Casa di Ele, located right in the heart of the historic city center.

For those who wish, coworking can be organised in a private room of Bobbio’s Public Library.

During the Trek (Wednesday-Sunday) it is NOT possible to work, connection to wifi (3G) is possible along the route.

Before we embark on our adventurous journey, we’ll savor local cuisine, enjoy aperitivos by the Duomo, and experience the essence of Bobbio dolce vita.

Trek will end on May 17 in Sori. We plan to reach Sori around 2pm. Departures from Sori can be planned around 4pm. However, it is not recommended to travel back long distances on May 17.

His Majesty il Lupo

MEET THE WOLVES of our guides and witness their intelligence, loyalty, and balanced temperament. Pietro, our trek guide, is an official ‘Wolf caretaker’. Dune, his youngest wolf, will be part of our journey.

Pietro’s mission is to preserve lupus italicus, this unique breed originated in the Apennines. Pietro explains to schools the life and organisation of wild wolves in nature.
